Paris In The Spring

What can I say about Paris that hasn't been said before? Probably nothing.
We absolutely adored Paris. Which is odd considering we don't typically enjoy large cities. But Paris? Love. As I've said before, I don't love anywhere more than home. Aint no place on God's earth hold a candle to the moist ocean air rolling into the green trees in our pocket of the Pacific Northwest. With that being said, there is something really special about physically being somewhere with so much rich past and history. It's truly incredible.

Let's just talk about the food in Paris for a quick second. Everything, everywhere, was so incredibly incredible. Wine, cappuccinos, onion soups, mousse, roasted chicken, croissants...I could go on and on. One lazy afternoon we went and gathered up a bag of desserts; crepe with nutella, chocolate croissant, strawberry cakes, etc and sat on a bench in the Champs De Mars under the Eiffel Tower and ate our hearts out. Maybe one of my favorite memories from our days in Paris.

We went on an evening bike tour around Paris, rode across the Seine at sunset with the drastic contrast of Notre Dame looming in the background. We watched the Eiffel Tower light up a thousand times, glittering in the dark from the the bow of our boat, wine in hand.

We ate meringues, rode the metro, and walked aimlessly in circles. We sat in cafes on the Rue Cler where the locals shop, watching them gather their daily bread, cheese, meat, produce, and flowers. We interacted with locals easily, as I'm pretty quick to pick up the basics of most languages.

We didn't entertain the idea of waiting in long lines, hanging out with throngs of tourists. Instead, we just lived and breathed in the city. It was perfect. Paris didn't disappoint.

Next up, a visit with an old friend in Belgium!
