We planned this trip to Maui almost a year ago and now that it's here, I'm totally and completely scared for the traveling day on the plane. You may remember me telling about Ben's
I've read a few "flying with baby" posts, and while they were all very helpful, I'm still not sure any of them prepared me simply because every family and baby dynamic is a bit different so what works for one person may not work for another. For example, we taught Ben to sleep in his crib, therefor he sleeps terribly anywhere else. So that advice about putting baby in a carrier and having them sleep on you? Probably not-gonna-work-for-us. And when Ben is overtired and ready for a nap...Ben is ready for a nap. Sigh. I did pick up a few packing tips for the plane, and here is what I have put together for our 12.5 month old. I'm kind of in the mindset that less is more because I don't want to carry a ton of stuff around...but then when I made this list I realized we probably need to bring more than I originally thought.
::Special and/or favorite snacks.
::Take and Toss cups with straws
::Portable DVD player with movies. Ben only watches video for 2 minutes or so while I clip his nails...he seems to like watching real animals, so I'm going with that.
::This portable sound machine.
::Stinky blue guy (blanket lovey) he sleeps with
::Extra warm clothes we can layer
::Lightweight blanket (ya know, in the event he might fall asleep.)
::Nursing cover (not for nursing, but to help block out light...again....in the event he sleeps)
::Small, new books (he loves books)!
::Little trinkets/new toys (not balls or anything noisy.)
::Diaper bag with a lot of diapers, wipes, first aid kit, etc.
::Ergo for getting through security and boarding.
::Prayers that other passengers will be kind and show us grace.
::A positive attitude and low expectations.
If you have any other input, suggestions, or advice...please let me know! I'm all ears!
